Description
Ashes tells some of the stories of the people of post war Limerick, Ireland who were happy to stay at home and help build a city. Larry and Andrew are two boys from the lanes of Limerick who each endured hardship and poverty but braved it out and refused to run off to America just because life was tough. Ashes is an honest account of the lives of just some of the people who stayed at home. When you read it you will realise that these were the true heroes and this book is dedicated to their memory. Gerard Hannan is a native Limerickman who is a direct desendant of the ‘Hannan’ family heavily featured throughout Frank McCourt’s book Angela’s Ashes. He works as a journalist, broadcaster and author in Ireland and has published several books.
